Martin Wells is a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and retired in 2017 after serving 18 years as the Bishop of what is now The Northwest InterMountain Synod of the ELCA.  Prior to that time Martin was an Executive Director at Holden Village, Chelan, WA (1994-1999). 

Martin served with Susan Briehl and Dan Erlander as University Pastor at Pacific Lutheran University from 1986-1994, and was, before that Co-Pastor at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Bellingham, WA. (1981-1986). 

Martin will earn a certificate in Spiritual Direction in October 2022 and hopes to meet with people interested in spiritual discernment, vocation, and growth in faith. 

Martin is married to Pastor Susan Briehl and has two grown daughters and three grandchildren.
