Sarah Alexis is a member of the Okanagan Indian Band located at the head of Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, Canada. Her roots are Dakelh and Syilx. She has an undergraduate degree in Indigenous Studies with a minor in History from the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBCO).

Sarah continues to focus on her work involved in the Natural Resource sector and the Okanagan Language in the Syilx Nation. She contributes to the larger body of research and community engagement for siw̓łkʷ (water) and nsyilxcn for the Syilx Nation. She continues her Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at UBCO. She is passionate about nsyilxcn, water, youth empowerment, and poetry.
